报告摘要
"Evolution of cooperation" is a scientific discipline that aims to explain when and why people cooperate. Cooperation often entails paying a cost to help someone else. Hence, cooperators are at a risk of ending up with lower payoffs than defectors, making it puzzling why people should cooperate at all. One important mechanism for cooperation is direct reciprocity. This mechanism posits that people should act more cooperatively if they interact repeatedly. In that case, people can enforce cooperation with conditional strategies like Tit-for-Tat. However, most of the respective models assume that all individuals are symmetric, meaning that they have the same cost to cooperate, and that they equally benefit from others' cooperation. In this talk, I will discuss a few models and experiments that explore how humans cooperate in the presence of asymmetries.

Christian Hilbe博士，研究方向为演化博弈论、社会困境博弈中的合作演化。大学至博士毕业于维也纳大学数学系，先后曾在马克斯-普朗克研究所、哈佛大学和奥地利IST完成博士后工作，现任马克斯-普朗克进化生物学研究所 "社会行为动力学 "团队负责人，是社会困境博弈领域的国际知名专家，其研究工作主要通过数学模型、计算机模拟和经济学实验来探索人类在社会困境中的决策。在Nature、Nature Human Behaviour、Nature Communications、Nature Computational Science，PNAS等期刊发表论文四十余篇。
